Melba Copland Secondary School is a co-educational government college catering for students in Years 11 and 12. The School offers students a secure and supportive environment and a broad educational program. It provides students with a variety of enriching and rewarding academic, social, cultural and vocational experiences that will help prepare them for future life and ongoing learning. DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

Melba Copland Secondary School began the International Baccalaureate Diploma programmme in 2003 and offers a range of IB subject choice. GROUP 1 English HL and SL GROUP 2 French, Japanese and Spanish [Ab initio - SL] French, Japanese and Spanish [Language B - HL and SL] GROUP 3 INDIVIDUALS AND SOCIETIES Psychology HL and SL, History HL and SL, ITGS (Information Technology in a Global Society) SL. GROUP 4 EXPERIMENTAL SCIENCES Chemistry HL and SL, Physics HL and SL, Biology HL and SL. GROUP 5 MATHEMATICS Mathematics HL Mathematical Methods SL Mathematical Studies SL GROUP 6 ELECTIVE Theatre Arts HL and SL, Visual Arts HL and SL OR A second subject from group 2, 3 or 4.

What is the IB?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) aims to develop inquiring, and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The IB offers high quality programmes of international education to a worldwide community of schools.
