    <intro>This group has been running since 1998 and meets quarterly in IB Schools to discuss IB programmes and support them in our schools. 

The group is open to all interested, candidate and authorised IB Worldschool Coordinators or their delegates. Meetings begin with a cross-programme part where AAIBS issues, general IB pedagogy and cross-programme matters are discussed before moving into programme specific (i.e. DP, MYP, PYP) matters.

    <intro>South Australian MYP teachers have met regularly from 1997 when 2 school clusters commenced the IBMYP program. With the number of South Australian IBMYP schools increasing since 1997, the demand for a professional support group led to the formation of the SAMYP Coordinators&#8217; group which offered free membership to all, interested, candidate and authorised IBMYP schools.

Currently, the 24 regular members of the SAMYP committee meet once per term for discussion, clarification and networking support. Additionally, the committee organises Collaborative Professional Development activities to support IBMYP teachers in designing and delivering high quality programs. SAMYP committee meetings are held at member schools on a rotating basis

&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri;"&gt;In Term One each year we hold an MYP Induction Day for newly-appointed teachers. The 2009 Induction Day, held at Immanuel College, followed a format similar to previous years, including an introduction to the IB origins, an overview of the Areas of Interaction and the Learner Profile. Newly-appointed teachers then attended subject specific groups for further information and clarification. On the Induction Day, 14 teachers donated their expertise, time and experience to present a variety of topics to over 120 newly appointed teachers. Our induction days have proven extremely beneficial to newly-appointed teachers because the teachers gain networking opportunities and further clarification of the MYP.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri;"&gt;In Terms 2 and 3 we present Collaborative Professional Development Sessions at Blackwood High and Concordia College. These sessions continue over two Thursday evenings for teachers to explore their chosen areas of interest. Each evening involves coffee and registration, a 90 minute PD session, dinner and networking, followed by another 60 minute PD session. The following fortnight the teachers reconvene to continue the PD in a similar format. Topics offered vary - subject specific collaboration, assessment, unit development, organising the personal project, and so on. The SAMYP committee chooses and tailors topics to meet the needs of the attending teachers. We also hold Spotlight Seminars each term which focus on sharing good practice and the seminars usually run for 90 minutes. Again, the topics reflect the needs of the participants and they are always well-attended.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri;"&gt;The SAMYP group continues to grow in importance in South Australia - especially as Adelaide is now the largest cluster of MYP schools in the world - perhaps because of the readily accessible support provided by SAMYP.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</services>
